This is the official web page for
the role-playing
science-fiction play-by-mail game
Moons of Nibir.
What's this?
Moons of Nibir is a role-playing game played by mail.
That is, players get a magazine in which the gamemaster explains to them
what's happened in the game world during the turn (one month). Also, they
receive a personal turn in which it's explained what's happened to them
personally during this month of game time. In return, they send the gamemaster
what their characters will do during the next turn (month), and so on...
The background to the game is science-fiction. It's
based in Ganimedes, the largest moon of Jupiter. There are three colonies
there, one european (Nova-Firenze), one north-american (Galilea) and one
chinese (Tsing-Pao). All three of them are fully blown cities, housing
around a million souls. The main reason for them to be is to conduct mining
operations in Jupiter's ring of asteroids. The action takes place mainly
in the european colony, Nova-Firenze, where players take on the roles of
every kind of person inhabiting it. From politicians to policemen, from
gangsters to prospectors or miners... The sky's no longer the limit.
