TRIP TO ISRAEL & THE SINAI PENINSULA
On one of the occasions that we visited Joyce Morgan (the psychic artist that was mentioned in the article), she went into trance and said that Mary and I would soon be visiting the Middle East and that I would find an old map in a bookshop in Israel, which would be of interest to me.
I did not think the event would be possible, as we are living on a small income and could not afford any type of vacation.
A few months later, my mother died and we went back to England to attend the funeral.
A neighbor of ours came every day to feed our dog whilst we were away. The water tap in our kitchen had somehow overflowed and flooded the floor which ruined some Oriental carpets. My insurance company, sent a man to inspect the damage. However, after a few weeks we received a letter from them, notifying us that we were not covered for those items, as they were not separately listed.
After reading the fine print on the policy, we realized they were right, so I did not pursue it. A month later someone at the insurance company telephoned me to tell me that a check had been sent to them, in settlement of my carpet claim. They did not understand why I was being paid for it, as their main office had notified them that they were not going to pay out. That indeed was a good sign, as it would certainly give us enough money, as we then had enough money to pay for the trip to the Middle East. Joyces prediction was correct !
The trip was planned for the month of October, as the temperature there would not be too hot. There was another surprise in store for us, as we later found out that our tour of Israel included a trip to the Sinai Peninsular. We would not only visit the famous Mount Sinai (the supposed site where Moses received the Ten Commandments and fabricated Ark of the Covenant) but we would also be visiting the ancient monastery of St. Katherine, which dates back to around 300 ad.
Our tour to the Sinai was made up of a group of ten people plus an Egyptian guide named Mohammed and girl named Eja our Israeli guide, a Russian immigrant. Leaving Elait in two Land Rovers, we drove south for about six hours through the desert without air-condition. We stopped at a camp that was near the Monastery, where each couple, were assigned a small tent.
After lunch, we set out again with the Landrovers in the direction of the
mountains. The vehicles stopped near the base of Mount Sinai and we were
ushered out as we had to make the rest of the way by foot, which was about
8 kilometers...up hill !
It was very dry in the desert and the midday temperature did not help. About half way up we were fortunate to be able to rent camels for a modest price.
We arrived at a primitive place, which served cold drinks. It was near the uneven, steps that were cut into the rocks, which would lead us to the summit of the mountain. We were told that the climb would be rewarding, as we would not only have a panoramic view of the desert but we would witness a spectacular sunset.
Unfortunately my wife was too exhausted to go any further and could not make the high climb, which would take another couple of hours. She stayed behind with the Egyptian guide, in the shade, whilst Eja showed us the way up. The ascent was very steep but it was not difficult with the aid of the rugged steps that wound to the summit, which started about 500 meters from where Mary and the guide sat.
I was straggling behind as we made our way up. Suddenly, I started to feel very cold (although it was a hot day). I stopped and looked down to see a valley that seemed to hypnotize me. Our guide came down and asked me what was the matter. I said that it was not necessary for me to make the climb as I felt drawn to the valley. I told the guide that I would wait where I was until they returned. I asked her if there was anything special in the valley below, but she did not know.
I took some photos (which when developed, showed some very strange patterns on the rocks that look like faces and animal heads, that we had not noticed when we were there).
A strange feeling came over me, as I sat there gazing at the valley (still shivering). I sensed that it was a very spiritual place. I also felt that if Moses had to speak to the supposed Children of Israel, then this would have certainly been, where it happened.
For some unknown reason, I found myself reciting the Ten Commandments out loud. It made me realize even more, that this must have been the place, as it was like an auditorium. My voice echoed through the valley, loud and clear. I realized that for Moses to convey the Ten Commandments, to so many people without a microphone, it could certainly be achieved from where I was standing.
I stayed there for some
time as the sun was starting to go down. I thought I should fetch my wife
to come and look at the valley. As I started the short trip to fetch her,
I was amazed to see her coming towards me, accompanied by Mohammed.. I am
sure that it was no coincidence, perhaps it was ESP and we were reading each
others minds. She told me that she felt impelled, to see what was beyond
the rocks where they had sat. I showed her the valley and without telling
him my thoughts, I asked Mohammed, what he knew about the valley.
Yes, he confirmed my thoughts. He told us that it was a very special place for the Bedouins, who often camped there to meditate. In fact, they had done so for generations. Many had spoken about seeing apparitions in the rocks. It was indeed a very spiritual place. It was an experience that I would never forget. I hope I can visit that place again and meditate with the Bedouins.
Before we went on our Sinai trip, it was suggested that we carry a liter of water and a flashlight. Although we needed the water but the flashlight was more essential for our walk back at night. We started our descent, as it was getting dark and within half an hour it was pitch black ! With the aid of our lights, we followed the well trained guides back to our overnight camp. As we were walking, the guides suddenly stopped and requested we all turn our flashlights off. Our eyes focused on the heavens and what a spectacular sight ! The stars looked so close, as though we
could touch them. For the first time in my life, I was able to see what the milky way actually looked like. It was so clear, that we could even see the satellites moving in the sky !
We reached the camp and enjoyed our Arabic meal, as we squatted on cushions in a friendly atmosphere. I spoke further to the guide and asked if he knew anything about a specific area in Egypt (where Mosec had indicated to me, the location of the Ark). He was not familiar with the area but he introduced me to another guide, who had done a lot of traveling in Egypt. He informed me that it was a desert area with small hills and many caves, that came to the surface after sand storms disturbed them. Inside some of them were skeletons, as caves were often used as burial grounds many years ago.
I showed him one of the spiritual drawings that Joyce Morgan had made, (whilst we were both in trance). The guide asked me where I got the drawing because it certainly looked like the area that he had described !
The next morning we entered the monastery, which was built in the fourth century by the monks. Something made me walk over to one of the Greek Orthodox monks, dressed in his black robes. He spoke English and within a few minutes he was giving my wife and myself a private tour, showing us very holy places where tourist were not normally permitted. We went upstairs into a very old library, in fact, it was one of the two oldest libraries in the world, the other being at the Vatican.
The books were hundreds of years old and I asked him if there were any books on the subject of the Ark of the Covenant. He said that it was not important to his religion, yet as I looked around the musty dark place, inside one of the glass cabinets, lay a book opened at a page, which featured a scene of Moses and the Holy Ark. I tried to photograph it but my camera was not good enough, especially as it was behind glass. We were informed that our party was waiting for us, to make our long journey back to Israel, so unfortunately I did not have time to ask him further questions. Hopefully one day, I will be able to return to visit the monastery and spend more time there.
During our exiting tour of Israel, we visited a museum. As we were leaving, we went through its shop that sold books related to it. Whilst our group were looking at the books, I found myself going behind the counter and in one of the corners of the room was a very old picture of a map of the Sinai. It looked like it was from a page of an book. I asked the curator of the museum if it was for sale.
Unfortunately , it belonged
to the museum. I asked what he knew about it. He said that the picture had
been some sort of a mystery as they did not exactly know how it got there.
He let me take it in the daylight to take a photo but it did not come out
too clear. It was a map showing the route by which Moses took the Children
of Israel on their departure from Egypt It also indicated many places where
they had stopped and probably lived while they journeyed for forty years,
according to The Bible. Those places are not on the modern day maps and I
have a feeling that some very interesting things will be discovered by
archaeologists if they ever dig around the places marked on it. The map had
apparently been drawn with the north on the left hand side of the map instead
of being on the top.
Joyce had mentioned that I would find a map and at that time I had no intention of going to Israel... Could that have been the map ?!
The highlight to our trip was when the Professors Mati and Yudit Ronen (whom I had corresponded with), introduced us to a woman named Menorah. She did channeling and faith healing. Every week she invited a group together, to meditate for peace around the world. We were invited to her home where she put me in a state of trance and within a couple of minutes, Mosec was talking through me again. At the same time, she also began channeling.
The session proved very interesting and was taped, with two witnesses. Menorah had confirmed that she felt that there was a person named Mosec and that he and his men did steal the Ark. She also mentioned that when he opened it, he and his men were killed, buried in a sandstorm. She further added that the spirit of his men had "gone on" but that the spirit of Mosec was still here he was buried, waiting for the Ark (and what ever else is there) to be found ... before he could also journey on.
