THE ARK, A SOURCE OF UNKNOWN ENERGY
Graham Hancock, the author of the book The Sign and the Seal , defends he hypothesis that the Ark of The Covenant, apart from protecting the tablets of the law, contained a source of unknown energy, which could be the self same Tablets. For the investigator, Meir Ben-Dov, in his book The Shadow of the Temple , he said that the Tablets. could be two highly radioactive fragments of meteorites or with some chemical property which would have been used by Moses to inoculate terror amongst the people to keep them away from the Ark.
In any case, the wooden structure of the Ark, with a double lining of gold and closed with a slab of gold, brings to mind of modern day containers that are used for radioactive materials, where lead and cement are substituted for gold.
Another part in favor of this hypothesis, that it is worth mentioning was that the High Priests of ancient Israel, at that time, wore special garments, whenever they went near the sacred relic. This could be due to the demands of the ritual but it could also be a need for protection against radioactivity. Besides, the Ark was also wrapped with two layers of cloth arid one of leather when it was transported This was to prevent the bearers from contacting it, ensuring them against death.
In the past , according to what the Bible says. Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu, died when they went into the Tabernacle, shortly after the Ark had been placed there; A flame came out and devoured them alive. The strange thing was that Moses, ignored all the demands of ritual burial and ordered both corpses to be removed from the camp. What was Moses afraid of?
In the same way, some Old Testament references treat it more like a lethal weapon than a sacred relic. The Jews attributed the fall of the walls of Jericho, to the extraordinary powers of the Ark, carried there by the Israelites (Samuel 1: 5-6). Later when it fell into the hands of the Philistines, they returned the Ark back to the Israelites and by the will of Jehovah , 50,070 men of Bet-Shemesh fell dead because they looked in the Ark (Samuel 1, 6:19). As we have seen, the power of the Ark, were so great, that if it was improperly used, it would cause death. (Chronicles 1,13: 9-10).
