Lucky for us, our two new dogs get along well with each other because our older dogs aren't exactly excited about having them around. The two pairs get along by essentially ignoring each other.

But Bonita and Frodo, pictured above, have been together since last summer, when they were running around loose hustling up food wherever they could find it. Now that they have a warm, dry place to sleep and regular meals, they still rely on each other for company and entertainment. They even sleep together sometimes, sharing one of the pads on the living room floor.

Frodo is a fairly young - barely out of his puppyhood. Bonita's age must be around six years, but our vets say it's only a guess. She's had such a rough life that the vets can't use the usual signs to estimate her age. But she's in very good health now that she's been neutered and had several tumors removed during a multi-mastectomy.

Both of them got the hang of our 'doggie doors' right away - and they seem to be naturally house-broken, thank goodness.
