Texas Retreat

I spent the first 10 days in April with my family in Texas. My niece, Brenda, and her husband, Jerry Smith, had generously invited me to stay with them in their creekside home after Marivi and my mother passed away (in March).  The home of Brenda and Jerry Smith on Village Creek in Silsbee, Texas
It doesn't take long to see why Brenda and Jerry want to live there. They both enjoy the scenery, the peace and tranquility, the wildlife, and the fishing. My 10-day stay here with good company and in such a tranquil setting was just the therapy I needed. |

 For a while, Brenda and this deer were friends and playmates. After a few months,
this deer disappeared, probably killed by some cold-hearted "hunter."

Between Brenda, Richard and me, we took well over 100 pictures - far more than could be included on a web page. The photos above can't begin to describe my pleasure in spending a few days with my family in such beautiful, restful surroundings. | |
