Spring Colors
April 2009

Spring is here and most of the late-January winter storm damage is repaired and cleaned up. After an unusually cold, gray, wet winter, most of March was dry and sunny. Now (March 30th) there are colorful blooms everywhere. Here at home the flowers and bushes have come alive without any human help or encouragement, a morale booster for which I am very grateful. ![]() This bush was one of Marivi's favorites. It's the larger of two that she planted.
I have no idea what it's called. If you recognize it, please let me know.
This Magnolia x soulangiana blooms just as the leaves are about to sprout and looks odd until it fills out.
![]() The four Azaleas (This is one of them) have the brightest colors of all - at least during this time-of-year.
![]() These poor beds have been neglected for almost a year - and it shows.
For years, Marivi was in charge of the flowers and bushes, with the help of her sister, Rosa. These bright, cheery
colors are the result of their efforts. With my "brown thumb" abilities, I only hope that they continue to flourish under the care
they get from me.
