More Chapuzas
July 2008

There are several dictionary definitions of the word chapuza (cha-POO-tha), but the most common use of the word around here refers to "a job done sloppily or incompletely" or to the person who did such work. In July 2008 (under "Country Living") I posted photos of some that were published in our regional newspaper, La Voz de Galicia. Here are three more they published in May of this year. The previous pictures from 2008 are shown again at the bottom of this page.

Of course, not all chapuzas are so visible. At least not right away. Others can be plastered or painted over during shoddy construction, only to show up sometime later. But one thing's for sure: around here, wherever you are, you're not very far from at least one chapuza.
