Aerial View

A couple of years ago one of our neighbors showed us an aerial view of his place. He told us who sold it to them and we tried to contact the outfit to inquire about getting a picture of our own. We were never able to get in touch with them and so we just forgot all about it. A few months ago we noticed a low-flying light plane buzzing around our area and figured they were probably taking some pictures of something. The plane eventually disappeared and we didn't give it another thought.
Scanned 5X8-inch Photo
Sure enough, the people in the plane had been taking pictures and one of them was of our place. A guy came by in June with the a 5X8-inch photo (above) and offered to sell us a larger one in a frame. We opted for a medium-sized one and they delivered it three weeks later. As you can see if you look closely, the photographer captured the place warts and all. The dark spots on the house walls are the dirt and mildew that accumulated during the wet winters. Too bad we didn't get around to cleaning the walls sooner. The house looks better in the 11X15 framed version. It's printed on a material that has a
canvas-like texture, making it look sort of like a painting. As a result some of the details (like
the dirty walls) are less noticeable. They also cropped the right-hand side of the photo, which
included the concrete septic tank cover. (Maybe I should have painted it green.) |
